Introduction of Yava Yoga as per Vedic Astrology
Yava Yoga is one of Aakriti Yoga in the Nabhas yoga group in Vedic astrology. When natural beneficial planets are placed in 4th & 10th house and natural malefic planets are placed in 1st & 7th house then Yava Yoga is formed. Yava yoga is considered beneficial by nature.
Nabhasa yoga is formed in the sky (Nabha) based on the shape created in the sky by planets. So, it is very clear that Nabhasa yoga is formed with visible planets only (not by Rahu & Ketu).
As per classical books of Astrology, there are 32 types of Nabhas yoga in Vedic Astrology which are listed below
- 20 Aakriti Yoga (based on the shape formed by planets in the sky)
- 7 Sankhya Yoga (based on the number of signs in which all planets are placed)
- 3 Aashraya Yoga (based on planets occupied in movable, dual or fixed signs).
- 2 Dala Yoga (formed based on a beneficial or malefic planet in the Kendra)
Yava Yoga is part of Aakriti Yoga. Yava words means Jau or Barley which is considered one of the nutrient foods from the Vedic era. Jau is considered auspicious in our religions.
Formation of Yava Yoga
As per classical books, it is said that all malefic in 1st & 7th houses and beneficial in the 4th & 10th houses from Lagna then Yava yoga is formed. Here we only consider Visible planets( Sun to Saturn). But Rahu & Ketu placements are not considered.
- Beneficial planets – Jupiter, Venus, Shukla Paksha Moon, Mercury alone or associated with other beneficial planets
- Malefic planets – Mars, Saturn, Krishna Paksha Moon, Mercury associated with other malefic (including Sun, Rahu & Ketu)
For Yava yoga, we don’t consider the placement of the Sun. Because if we consider the Sun as malefic then Yava yoga will never be possible. As we know Mercury and Venus never go 4th from Sun. For Yava Yoga Venus & Mercury must be conjunct and in this case, Sun may be a maximum of 2 house aways. Sun never goes 4th from Venus & Mercury. So, we don’t consider the Sun regarding Yava yoga.
As we know when all visible planets are placed in 5 signs then Pasa Yoga is formed. In Yava Yoga Sun is not in Kendra and the other 6 planets in Kendra in 4 different signs. So, Yava yoga is also a case of Pasa Sankhya yoga. But give priority to the results of Yava yoga.
