Introduction of Dala Yoga in Vedic Astrology
Dala means Group or community. Dala yoga is part of Nabhas yoga in Vedic astrology which is formed based on placement of beneficial & malefic planets in Kendra.
Nabhasa yoga is formed in the sky (Nabha) based on the shape created in the sky by planets. So, it is very clear that Nabhasa yoga is formed with visible planets only (not by Rahu & Ketu).
As per classical books of Astrology, there are 32 types of Nabhas yoga in Vedic Astrology which is listed below
- 20 Aakriti Yoga (based on the shape formed by planets in the sky)
- 7 Sankhya Yoga (based on the number of signs in which all planets are placed)
- 3 Aashraya Yoga (based on planets occupied in movable, dual or fixed signs)
- 2 Dala Yoga (formed based on a beneficial or malefic planet in the Kendra)
Now let’s talk about DalaYoga.
Formation of Dala Yoga
As we discuss Dala yoga has two types, Mala Yoga (beneficial) & Sarpa Yoga (malefic).
- When all malefic planet (Sun, Mars & Saturn) placed in Kendra to each other and no beneficial planet in Kendra to then then Sarpa Yoga is formed.
- If all beneficial planet (Mercury, Jupiter, Venus in Kendra to each other and no Malefic planet in Kendra then Mala Yoga is formed.
Sarpa Dala yoga has malefic nature because they formed with Papi graha and Mala Dala yoga is considered beneficial by nature.
Important point keeps in mind regarding Dala Yoga
- Dala yoga is part of Nabhas yoga, so we only considered visible planets (Sun to Saturn) but not taking consideration of Rahu & Ketu.
- In Dala yoga we don’t consider Moon as per the suggestion given by the classical book of astrology.
- All 3 planets involved in Dala yoga must be in 3 consecutive Kendra to each other’s. So, all 3 planets must be in different signs.
