- Aashraya yoga (3) – Based on planet position in movable, fixed, dual sign
- Dala yoga (2) – Based on a group of beneficial or malefic planet

So, as we discuss Dala yoga has two types, Mala Yoga (beneficial) & Sarpa Yoga (malefic). Today we discuss about Mala Yoga.
Formation of Mala Yoga
Mala Yoga is formed when all beneficial planets are placed in Kendra and no malefic planet is placed in Kendra. But all beneficial (Jupiter, Mercury, Venus) must be in 3 consecutive Kendra.
We have to note these points
- Nabhas Yoga formed with only the Visible planet. So, the placements of Rahu Ketu don’t matter. So, Rahu & Ketu may be or may not in Kendra it doesn’t matter. But as Mala yoga promises beneficial results, so for practical purposes, if Rahu & Ketu is not placed in Kendra then considered the best position.
- In Dala Yoga we only considered 6 planets. Sun, Mars, Saturn as malefic planets and Mercury, Jupiter, Venus as beneficial planets.
- We don’t consider Moon regarding Formation of Dala Yoga. But for practical purposes, Krishna Paksha (dark half month) Moon is considered as Malefic & Shukla Paksha (bright half month) Moon is considered as beneficial. So, if also beneficial Moon place in Kendra, then give strength to Mala Yoga.
- The most important point all 3 beneficial planets must be in 3 different Kendra and not any of 3 malefic planets placed in Kendra.
- Some books say that Mala Yoga is Nabhas Yoga. So, it is not necessary Yoga formed based on the Lagna chart. But even if All 3 beneficial are Kendra to each other and no malefic will be Kendra to beneficial planets then Mala Yoga is also formed. Definitely, Mala Yoga formed with the Lagan chart will be more powerful than others.
So, Keep all points in mind regarding considered Mala Yoga. Mala Yoga is also known as Shree or Shreek Yoga. Mala means garlands and Shree means prosperity.
