Chaturthamsa Chart or D4 chart
When we divide a rashi into 4part then each part is known as chaturthamsa. Means we divide 30° into 4 part So each part will be 7° 30′. So arc of a chaturthamsa is 7°30′.
So one circle of zodiac has 48 Chaturthamsa.
Casting of D4 chart or Chaturthamsa Chart
Method
1)1st chaturthamsa of a sign is belongs to same sign.
2)2nd chaturthamsa of a sign is belongs to 4th from sign.
3)3rd Chaturthamsa of a sign is belongs to 7th from sign.
4)4th chaturthamsa of a sign is belongs to 10th from Sign.
Example
This is details of a native. So we cast D4 chart from above.
1) Lagan is falling in 2nd chaturthamsa so it’s belongs to 4th from sign. So lagan in D4 chart is Scorpion sign.
2)Sun is falling in 1st chaturthamsa so still in Cancer sign in D4.
3)Moon is falling in 1st chaturthamsa so still in Aries in D4.
4)Mars is falling in 4th chaturthamsa so it is 10th from Libra Sign in D4 chart. So Cancer sign in D4.
5) Mercury is falling in 4th chaturthamsa so it is falling 10th from Cancer sign in D4. So in D4 chart Mercury in Aries sign.
6) Jupiter is falling in 2nd chaturthamsa so it is falling in 4th from Sagittarius Sign in D4 chart. So in D4 Jupiter in Pieces Sign in D4 chart.
7) Venus is falling in 2nd chaturthamsa so in D4 chart it is in 4th from Cancer sign so it is in Libra Sign in D4 chart.
8) Saturn is falling in 3rd chaturthamsa so in D4 chart it is in 7th from Libra means Aries sign.
9)Rahu is falling in 2nd Chaturthamsa so in D4 chart it is falling in 4th from Taurus Sign. So in D4 chart it is in Leo sign.
10)Ketu is falling in 2nd chaturthamsa so in D4 chart it is falling in 4th from Scorpion sign. So in D4 chart it is in Aquarius Sign.
